Common questions
Are the places real? How do you prevent invented stops?
Every stop is generated by AI trained on real-world knowledge of cities. We've built strict rules into our system: the AI must use exact official place names, full street addresses, and is explicitly instructed that it's better to include fewer stops than to invent one. For Pro users, we also cross-reference stops against Google Places to add real ratings and opening hours — if a place can't be found on Google Maps, it won't have that data. We're not perfect, but we take accuracy very seriously and fix any reported errors fast.
What cities are covered?
Secret Gems works for any city in the world. Our AI has deep knowledge of 180+ major cities and can generate reasonable tours for thousands more. The quality is naturally higher for well-documented cities like Paris, Lisbon, Tokyo, or Berlin — but you'll be surprised how well it works for smaller cities too.
What's the difference between the free and Pro plan?
The free plan gives you 1 tour per month with full stop descriptions and walking times. Pro unlocks 10 tours/month, an interactive map with turn-by-turn navigation, real-time ratings and opening hours from Google, website links, and the ability to replace any stop you don't like. Can I use Secret Gems without an account?
You need a free account to generate tours — we use this to track your monthly usage and save your tour history. Registration takes 10 seconds with just your email (no password needed — we use magic links).
How does the magic link login work?
Instead of a password, we send you a secure one-time link to your email. Click it to log in instantly — no passwords to remember, no security risks. The link expires after 15 minutes for security.
Can I share tours with friends who don't have an account?
Yes — every tour has a shareable link that works for anyone, no account required. You can also export your tour as a PDF or send it directly via email from the tour page.
What if a place is closed or no longer exists?
This can happen — cities change. If you find a closed or incorrect place, contact our support and we'll fix it. Pro users can also hit the "Replace" button on any stop to get an instant alternative hidden gem.
Can I cancel my Pro subscription anytime?
